The rains are widespread as the northeast monsoon begins in Tamil Nadu.

Chennai Meteorological Centre says, there is a possibility of rainfall in the coastal and inner districts of Tamil Nadu, as the atmospheric overlay loop near Sri Lanka has been settled there.

It also announced that the rain will continue for the next 5 days. Thus, the Corporation is preparing precautions in Chennai.

District Collector announced that all schools in Chennai will be given a holiday tomorrow due to heavy rains.

Similarly, Thiruvallur and Kanchipuram District Collectors announced that all schools will be given a holiday tomorrow.
